A large number of those being flown in are on wheelchairs. <br /><br />Ranjan Majumdar, a Port Blair-based businessman is a case in point. When Port Blair experienced tremors of high intensity on Thursday, he was among the panicking residents.

To save their lives, they jumped off buildings in sheer reflex action. In Majumdar''s case, it was a jump of two storeys which left him with a fractured thigh bone.<br /><br />Another passenger Raju returned to the city with his relatives. "I can''t even move my right leg as I''m in agony," he sobbed. A relative told <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">ToI</span> on Thursday morning, "The quakes have left him shaken. We won''t allow him to return to Port Blair in a hurry." <br /><br />Raju might just have to wind up his business there and start from scratch in the city. Those injured were transferred from the airport to waiting ambulances.<br /><br />An Indian Airlines spokesperson said they have been ferrying a large number of injured passengers by special flights from Port Blair. "We had to make special arrangements for them," he said. Apart from the physical scars, the tsunami victims will have to fight a psychological battle as well. <br /><br /><br /></div> </div>
